This was part of the Don't Fail Idaho campaign, to build momentum for improving Idaho's education system. The goal was to celebrate the curiosity and potential that exists throughout the state.

For the music, director Josh Hayward was looking for a feeling that conveyed unease, that things in Idaho now are not quite right. Towards the end of the piece the music swells to more optimism, but the last chord doesn't quite resolve harmonically, leaving a sense of unfullfilled potential.
